Role Descriptions:

MONEY ACTIVE TRAINER

Purpose of the role: To develop and deliver financial education to a variety of community audiences.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

• Delivering financial capability training covering debt prevention, money management skills such as budgeting, using bank accounts, options for borrowing and saving, and dealing with debt in an interesting and engaging manner
• Ensuring feedback is received from those receiving training and review, revise and improve courses and materials in the light of feedback from participants
• Maintaining accurate records of training sessions delivered and those receiving training and produce reports when required
• Organising delivery of courses; liaising with partner organisations as necessary
• Planning financial capability sessions appropriate to the target audience and length of session including designing and/or selecting resources and ensuring they are prepared in advance of a training session
• Creating and building networks with local organisations to promote financial capability training opportunities for their service users and members
• Advertising and marketing of group sessions to ensure course attendance is maximised
• Identifying social policy issues arising from work with clients
• Making referrals for advice appointments where appropriate
• Keeping up to date with developments in financial capability including attending appropriate training
• Attending bureau meetings and financial capability regional forums and other national events where appropriate

• Flexible and able to adapt training both to different groups and to be responsive within sessions
• An understanding of the difference between financial capability training and debt advice

• An understanding of why confidentiality is important
• A positive attitude to self-development and assessment
• Flexible about travelling to and running training sessions at times and locations most accessible to client group  

 

MONEYACTIVE ADMINISTRATOR

Purpose of the role:

• To help ensure the smooth running and organisation of the MoneyActive project.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

• Sending out information about courses
• Photocopying and printing handouts
• Typing up notes from sessions including useful case studies
• Inputting data to monitoring spreadsheet
• Taking minutes at financial capability meetings

Personal skills and qualities an administrator needs:

• A commitment to the aims and principles of the CAB service
• A commitment to equal opportunities
• To be organised and systematic
• Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
• A willingness to attend training and other meetings
• To be able to work as part of a team.

 

MONEYACTIVE MARKETING VOLUNTEER

Purpose of the role:

• To research & promote the Money Active training sessions to local agencies, end users and within bureaux.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

• To identify and meet with organisations who will benefit from Money Active training courses
• Promote the training courses, i.e. develop posters, flyers, media links
• Attend meetings, regional forums and national events to promote the project where appropriate
• Keep up to date with developments in money skills and attend training as appropriate Personal skills and qualities a marketing volunteer needs:
• A commitment to the aims and principles of the CAB service
• A commitment to equal opportunities
• Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
• A willingness to attend training and other meetings
• Basic IT skills and willing to learn desktop publishing skills if necessary
• To be confident in meeting new people
• To be able to work as part of a team
